The name ONSEA is a derivate from the Panthera Onca – known as jaguar or on?a – and is the American brother of the African Panthera Pardus – known as leopard or panther – which is one of the most famous animals in Tanzania.
Since July 2006 we founded ONSEA HOUSE Country Inn & Guest Cottage in Arusha, and plan to further develop and market it as boutique hotel concept. Onsea House Tanzania Ltd is a fully licensed hotel and restaurant managed by Belgian Chef Axel Janssens in partnership with a local business partner and locally hired staff.
Axel Janssens got his degree in hotel management and specialization in patisserie and chocolaterie at the International Culinary School of Bruges Ter Groene Poorte and after a traineeship at Hostellerie De Hamert and Hilton Brussels, he gained professional experience at Restaurant Villa Loraine in Brussels (first 3 star Michelin restaurant outside France), Allegro Moderato and Mosquito Coast, both in Ghent, and his own restaurant ‘t Keukentje in Sint Martens Latem.
